Hung Hoi

Standing Council

Hung Hoi is the professor at the School of Professional and Continuing Education of the Hong Kong University (HKUSpace) since 1984, and granted Honorary Fellowship in 2022. He was the lecturer at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and assistant Professor in the Department of Architecture of the Hong Kong University. In 1992, Hung received the ‘Urban Council Fine Arts Award of the Hong Kong Contemporary Art Exhibition’, ‘The Secretary for Home Affairs Commendation Medal’ by the Government of the HKSAR in 2006, Outstanding Award at the Chinese National Art Exhibition in 1999 and 2014. Currently Hung is the Museum Expert Advisor of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, the Government of HKSAR, adjunct professor of HKUSpace, former committee member of the China Artists Association, executive vice-chairman of the Hong Kong Artists Association, research fellow of the Cityscape Ink Institute of China National Academy of Painting, expert of Chinese National Arts Fund Review, member of the Oversea Adjudication Board of Tsinghua University.

Hung’s major Solo Exhibitions organised in The Hong Kong Museum of Art; the Taiwan Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall; Shenzhen Art Gallery. Major Group Exhibitions presented in ‘Collecting the 20th Century’ by the British Museum; Art Basel, Hong Kong; the National Exhibition of Fine Arts, China; Sotheby's, Christie’s, and China Guardian auction show. Artworks are collected by The National Art Museum of China, the British Museum, the Hong Kong Museum of Art, the Hong Kong Heritage Museum, Legislative Council of the HKSAR, Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, and Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, Taiwan.
